Happy Birthday. . . . . .with flying things

Good morning everyone from a chilly pond. Don't worry Patricia, I will never let it get to skating temperatures. The warmth of everyone's kindness will keep it defrosted. . . . . . don't pretend to be sick now, I meant that from the heart lol !!!

Jackie, so glad that your heating is sorted. After something similar happening a while ago, I made sure that we had an electric shower fitted when we moved here so that it was independent of the boiler and we could still have a hot shower if the boiler threw a wobbly.
Lydia, congratulations on your Sue Wilson win, you lucky girl.
Thank you for your concerns but I can assure you I am eating well (yummy homemade toad in the hole duly demolished last night, Mr Duck's favourite). I have lost 10lb now in 2 wks but it is due to all the running around that I'm doing. I will have to get one of them pedi things (pedicure would be nice but I mean one of them step counter doobrys) to see how far I walk on a shift.
Only 3 hours today so hopefully some crafting to be done. Was going to lunch with Nesta but she's laid up with a cold. I shall pop round with some flowers and if they won't go through the letterbox, I shall thrust them into her clammy hand and leg it.

Now, today's card is one I had done ages ago but hadn't blogged. I'm guessing its because I may not have been totally happy with it as the stamping looks a bit naff (I'm guessing that's why I didn't do a close up). I do, however, like panelled cards so if it gives someone an idea, all is not lost.
Its an 8x8 base (PMD hammered white card) topped with C&C silver linen card. I then stamped and silver heat embossed the top and bottom of some more hammered white card (think that's why the stamping is naff) and cut it into 4 panels.
Wrapped in Mei Flower silver satin ribbon and foam padded onto the silver linen.
Sentiment stamped onto white card and cut out with the 2nd smallest SB Decorative Labels

That's it. Not a classic but I've made worse (yes, really I have, though looking at this I know you are trying to imagine what worse may look like hahaha!!!)
No more F1 until March waaaaaaaaaaaah and boooooooooo hooooooooo. No more Mark Webber waaaaaaaaaah. What's a girl to do?

Have a great day folks and lets be careful out there.

Ang x

  1. Good morning Ang,
Glad the pond will stay warm, mind you I do like skating, I can keep my UGGS on as well!!!!
Your card is beautiful. We all have cards we are not happy with. Bet who ever gets/got it will be/was very happy. Love the butterflies and the whole design.
Hazel and I were off on our travels yesterday, decided we are getting old "our wee leggies" were tired when we got to the bus for home!!!!!
    Have a great day

  2. Morning Ang,

Beautiful card and I mean that sincerely folks...ha ha! Seriously yes it is, love the symmetrical of it.

I did think you would think my card was of a pub with the title but I thought I would tease you with it anyway lol!

Ang I hope you taped those GP then you can watch them all again till March, long time to wait!

    Love & Hugs

  4. Being hard on yourself again Mrs Duck???. Your card is beautiful, love the butterflies and the panelled effect. As Patricia was saying we decided we are getting to old to be walking around the likes of Glasgow for hours, husbands will be pleased as it means less spending. Hazel xxx

  5. Hi Ang,

Its a really pretty card. We are our own worst enemies but I cant fault this card, its lovely.

Will miss Mark Webber too, but at least he wont be playing second fiddle any more. Bet March will come quicker than we think, hopefully.

    Much love,

    Shirley T. xxx

  6. Hi Ang. I think the stamping looks great. Love the panelling. I think you're being hard on yourself - it's a very pretty card.
    Keep warm.
    Love Val x

  7. Hi Ang,
I love your card, nothing wrong with I love the panel effect.. Yes I feel lucky being a winner from Sue, I never win anything so I was gob smacked.

  8. Hello Ang, I love your card, the stamping is beautiful and so is the design, loving the silver ink, seams to suit the flutterbies. Toooooo critical of yourself!!
Hope you manage to get some crafting in today, take care of yourself, hugs Kate x

  9. Hi Ang. She is in hospital as we speak getting a push from the staff, I hope.
Card is gorgeous by the way, xxxx

  10. Hi Ang, sorry I'm a bit late today, so much to do, so little time. Mondays are always hectic as I do an exercise class at 9.30 followed by Fitsteps which is exhausting but I love it and it was so nice to come home to a nice hot shower as well. Then I have my craft club in the afternoon and we had a display today as it is the last "working" meeting of the year and just our Review of the Year and party next week so I have all the accounts and next year's programmes and notices to type up this week. I set myself a challenge last year to get all the workshops for the year sorted and bagged and samples made before we started back in February. That didn't work but I will try again!! Was a good GP to finish on I thought but sad no more Mark and March will soon come around and we will see what happens with the new engines. Anyway to your card which is really the purpose of the moment. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, the panelled effect is really nice, at least yours are all the same size and not wonky and you can't go wrong with butterflies. Don't work too hard, bye for now, Jackie

  11. I think your card is fab and you are being far toooo critical of your work xx I would be thrilled if someone sent me a card like this and I luv the panels xx works really well xx GailT xx

  12. Hi Ang,
so glad your pond wasn't frozen today.
Love your card today the panels are great and I love the silver butterflies.
The trouble with us we now where there are faults, but to us looking in on the pond it looks really fabulous. My DH has a saying to me a blind person would love to be able to see this.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  13. Beautiful birthday card Ang - I think it would be lovely to be able to skate on your pond!
