David's Special Birthday. . . . . . . . .

Good morning everyone. Hope all is ok with you and yours?

What a lovely week weather wise. . . . . . . . . .well, it has been here in The Pond lol!!!

Am I sad to take so much pleasure in seeing a line of washing bobbing about in the sunshine with a gentle warm breeze hahaha!!!

Managed to get some crafting done this week. Mojo has returned from its extended holiday so I'm making the most of it in case it decides to jet off again.

This week, I have also managed a grocery shop with Mr D, had a little pootle around Hobbycraft and yesterday, the lovely Nesta took me out to a local garden centre, where we had lunch and a gentle stroll around. It was smashing and great to be able to walk around without getting out of breath. These new tablets do have some side effects but thankfully breathlessness hasn't been one of them, so far.

On the subject of Hobbycraft, I bought some great 3mm off white pearls branded Simply Creative (they are part of Trimcraft) They are glued separately, so no having to chop them apart, 1080 in the pack all for £1.00. . . . . . . bargain!!! They do them in larger sizes too. I think that's the best deal I've had with pearls. Not often I can say bargain and Hobbycraft in the same sentence but hats off to them.

Now, today's card is one I made for Nesta to give our friend Davey (the guy who has more stamps in his passport than Alan Whicker) for his birthday in June. . . . . . .yes, I'm a bit behind lol!!! As it was a special birthday (sorry David, I've let the number out of the bag) he spent it in Australia and mounted Uluru. . . . . . . . . .no, that's nothing rude with that woman out of Star Trek, he climbed Ayres Rock lol!!!

Well, Singapore GP this weekend. . . . . . . I can almost smell the chicken satay at Lau Pa Sat ummmmm!!! Been lucky enough to visit Singapore a few times, when visiting my family in Malaysia but not for the GP. Bet it would be amazing to see a night street race.

For those of you lucky enough to be going to Ally Pally this weekend, I'm very jealous and sad that I can't make it. Hope you have a wonderful time and get to say "Hi" to my mate Wendywoo (Spanish Crafter) who has come over from Spain to help out on the CE stall.

Also, for those of you who saw Elaine's (Nattyboots) comment on my last post, her son Andrew has been very ill but is hopefully on the road to recovery. I didn't like to mention anything before as I didn't think it was my place to as I wasn't sure how public the news was. Poor Elaine has also had a poorly leg to contend with too so big hugs to the Nattyboots family.

Flat Golden Wedding. . . . . . . . . .The Card Not The Celebration!

Good morning folks. How is everyone? Well I hope?

I should clarify for those concerned girlies who told me off about "hobbling" last time, I still have to re-fuel and de-fuel (ie get to the kitchen for a drink and to the loo for other things) lol!!! I promise I haven't been discovating or doing Zumba lol!!! (In fairness, I didn't have the energy for those things before the ankle went to pot)

Now, Nancy D mentioned that there was a golden anniversary card required to go Down Under so I thought I would show the cards I made recently for some friends who were celebrating 50 years of marriage. This is the one from me & Mr D and as it was being posted, I kept it relatively flat, though it was 8x8. I also made one for Nesta, which I will show next time, but hers is a bit more ornate as she was seeing the happy couple and could hand deliver hers.

On the layer under the "50" the Rococo has been cut into cream card 3 times but offset rather than lined up straight. On the photo above the ingredients, I took the snap before putting the 50 topper on so you can hopefully see what I mean.

You can also, hopefully see that the oval has been cut from the centre of the Anna Griffin die cut. I did this separate to the mirror card as I don't like to try and cut too thick a layer through my GC. You just have to keep everything crossed that you've lined it up properly lol!!!

Hope this gives Nancy and some more of you lovely visitors a bit of inspiration.

Well, time for the Spanish GP today (Hope Jackie D is managing to watch). The tickets for Silverstone in July arrived on Friday..................I'm soooooooo excited. I think Mr D is hoping that my ankle is better by then as he's not looking forward to piggy backing me about a mile from the car park lol!!! Thank goodness we're in a grandstand so at least we get a seat rather than trying to see over folks heads standing on the grass.

Blue, Hedges and Orchids. . . . . . . . . .

Good morning folks and happy bank holiday!

I am still incapacitated as the ankle is no better and upon returning to my GP was referred straight to the hospital for x-rays. Hopefully, will get the results this week but still at home in the meantime.

I have ditched one of the crutches as I'm convinced I would have done myself another injury if I kept using two. All I need now is an eye patch and a parrot!!!

When I was seeing Nesta off (in the nicest possible way) the other day, I put one crutch down but missed the paving and the end lurched into the flowerbed below, causing me to loose my balance and pitch me into the hedge!!! 

As I did, I raised my arm in the air so Nesta just thought I was waving, waved back and drove off!!!

I ended up looking like Veronica Crabtree from South Park.

Now, you can see I've been playing with blue and white again but this time for a boy who has reached 87. Les is one of our good friends who still plays golf and is fitter than me (even without my current impediment) and his birthday was just over a week ago. I thought I'd do another 3D card and even though it was hand delivered, it does fold flat.

Quite a small list of ingredients and a simple card but still effective, I hope. Les was quite taken with the 3D aspect, bless him.

I didn't want the sentiment recessed too far, which is why I made the middle layer rather than sticking it to the back piece.

Thank you all for your continued kind comments and best wishes. I have managed to get some crafting done which is just as well as I had/have golden wedding, silver wedding, 1st anniversary, 3 70th birthdays, 50th birthday, 18th birthday and 2 normal birthdays all in the space of a month!!!

Moving Along With the Times Challenge. . . . . . Colour Theme

Good morning, its me again, just when you thought it was safe to blog lol!!!

Also, I've noticed that this is my 250th post. . . . . and they hoped said it wouldnt last hahaha!

Today its another DT card as its time for another challenge at MAWTT and the theme, as chosen by our head honcho Hazel (Didos) is this. . . . . . . 

                         Make your creation predominantly in your Birthstone Colour.

Hope you're able to go take a peek at my team mates creations here and it would be lovely to see some familiar names joining in.

Now, the reason my card is greener than a leprechauns longjohns is because I'm a May baby so my predominant colour is green.

I did wonder how I could make such a big splash of green look good but I'm quite pleased with the result.

Its an 8x8 as I wanted to use my new SB Lonely Hearts die (another similar to a Striplet) to make a panel by cutting it 3 times in a row (can anyone see a row of 3 "crabs" along the top with their pincers in the air?. . . . . .No? Just me then, lol!!!)

When I glued the cut out piece to the paler green card, I ran it through the GC as I would if using a mask to emboss. This has two purposes, in that it helps to stick the 2 pieces together and also the paler green card embosses slightly through the cut out piece. You can probably see it on this next photo a bit better. . . . . . . .

Happy Anniversary Mr D. . . . . . . .last month lol!!!

Good morning one and all. As always, I hope you and yours are well. Once again, apologies if it seems I'm late to your blogs. Blogger is being pain again and I've had my reading list disappear then my entire dashboard!!! It took nearly 30 mins just upload these pics, when its usually seconds. I promise, I will catch up.

Welcome too to my latest follower. Blogger is not telling me who you are but I'm glad you have joined in the fun.

And yes, before I go any further, I hold my hands up, guilty as charged mi'lud, as John let the cat out of the bag, I confess, I did go to C&C with him last Thursday, as most of you sussed (as last Thursday I had told you I spent the day with John) and obviously why we didn't get a whole heap of crafting done lol!!

I was sworn to secrecy and although I can yapp for Britain, I'm discreet. Its for John to make his own announcements but I am very privileged to have been able to accompany him on part of his crafting journey (Gosh, that sounds a bit X Factor doesn't it so please refrain from sticking your fingers too far down your throat hahaha!!!) The boys done good, as they say.

Now, after posting Patricia and John's anniversary card, I realised that I hadn't, in fact, posted the anniversary card I made for Mr Duck last month.

To remedy that, I've popped it on today.
