New Home. . . . . . . . .

Good morning chaps and chapesses. Hope all is well with you.

Apologies again for the gap but I've had a really rough few days. Won't dwell, as I know there's folk a lot worse off than me, and in view of recent events, I still have blessings I can count.

Davey has asked me to thank you for your condolences. He has been really touched by your kind words.
Thank you also for your lovely comments on the Thank You card for Joy and her wonderful quilt.

Now, this card was made for our normal, fully clothed, non lycra wearing neighbours (parents of Lilia and Luca whose clock presents are here and here) who have moved just down the road. They have spent ages renovating the new house and have turned it into a stunning home. Mum and Dad also got a bottle of fizz.

If you were wondering why the card design is as it is, I was trying to replicate what the front of their new home looks like. . . . . . . .

When Lucia opened it, she did say "Oooh, that looks like our house" so it can't look that bad lol!!!
The driveway is all finished now and the hedge trimmed but every time his van hasn't been in the way of a photo, its been pouring down so the above is a photo I took a few weeks ago.

Also, the New Home is also written in Albanian as Leo is from Albania and Italian as Lucia is half Italian. I did check that Google had given me the right translation as I would hate to have got it wrong and put "up yours" in Albanian by mistake lol!!!

Cream, pale and dark grey card (Lidl)
Silver mirror card
Presscut squares and rectangle dies
Hougie for scoring
Computer generated sentiment

They are a lovely family so I'm glad they haven't gone far. They have also promised to rent out next door to nice people. I said I wanted an old couple who were deaf so only watched sub titles on TV as I have an aversion to noise and screaming kids lol!!! Its in their own interests as the lady the other side would soon be knocking on their door if they rented out to raucous students (as would I, to be fair)
Elaine, I know you're not deaf (or old, I hasten to add) but I'm sure you would behave yourself, if you're still up for being my craft buddy lol!!!

Petrina, sorry to you and any other international paddlers. . . . . Paul Daniels was a TV magician, whose wife and assistant is Debbie McGee. As he was vertically challenged, so to speak, he was always known as Small Daniels by my family.
Jenny, Just to warn your son, I planted my white wisteria as a 4ft plant and was told it may take 7 years to flower, which is precisely how long it took. . . . much patience required. Also, do not divulge your sons address as Joy and Maureen will be round with their shovels.
Anne and Jan, would be lovely to catch up with you again at one of John's workshops.

That's me for today folks as still not feeling 100% and we have to go out to vote so until next time, be good and if you can't be good, blame Maureen. . . . . .

Ang x

I hope you start feeling better soon.
My last day at work today so it's going to be quite emotional at least I will have more time to craft until I another job xxx

  7. Morning Ang,
    Great card, clever lady.

  8. Hi Ang sorry to read you gave not been feeling so good - all that excitement of finding card packs in Lidl must be to blame. The way you have replicated their front door on your card is brilliant so no wonder it was appreciated. Let's hope you have nice new neighbours in due course. How many champions will be in the wall at the last corner this year do you think. With the wider cars there is bound to be some misjudgements! ! Love from Jackie

  9. Hi Ang

So sorry to read you've not been 100%, I do hope you start to improve soon!

I love your card, what a fantastic replica of their front door, your neighbours will have loved it!

    Rest up and take care

    June x

  10. Lovely idea for a New Home card In the past I have used a cartoon image of a house and added their house number to the door and created a street sign Take care xxx

  11. Hello Ang,
What a clever card! I really like that and I'm sure your neighbours did too! Sorry you haven't been feeling so well.
    Love Myra xx

  12. Clever Ang to make such a realistic copy of the house. I'm sure your neighbours will love it and appreciate your effort.
Sorry you've not had a good few days, Hope things improve for you soon. Looking forward to John's workshop on Sunday. Hope you'll make one before too long.

  13. Sorry to hear that you've had a bad week, I hope things improve soon. I love how you personalised this card, just stunning x

  14. Hiya!, what a fabulous card and I think you got it just right going by the photo. Have a lovely weekend, but take it easy, Hugs Kate x

  15. Hello Ang,
The card is fabulous but I hate to tell you that you have mixed up the greeting and it is rather rude. Still Leo and Lucia would probably expect that from you ha ha.
I am always very good, it's Myra that you have to keep an eye on, well two eyes preferably!
Sorry that you haven't been too grand, I am now walking in the house without any aid. I start off walking rather like an old woman but soon get in my stride and walk like an even older woman ha ha.
    Take care, love Maureen xxx

  16. A thoughtful card for your neighbours and love the colours too.
I hope you are in better health soon.

  17. Lovely card Ang and am sure it was appreciated by your neighbours. Sorry you haven't been feeling 100%

  18. Hi Ang,
what a brilliant card and such a very super design.
Lovely that you put the different languages on it.
A very speial keepsake I'm sure for that family.
So sorry to hear you are not too good again.
I do hope you will be feeling better soon.
I agree about the new neighbours you might get.
My daughter has very noisy neighbours especially next door, as the lady has a teenage Granson living with her and is always shouting at him.
Love and big crafty hugs from my house to yours. Jenny L.

  19. Hi Ang. what a great card and idea, I am sure your neighbours will love it. Hope your new neighbours are as good as Lucia and Leo.
Sorry Ang. to hear that you are still not too good, and wonder when/if you are back to see the consultant as perhaps he may be able to help things settle down as you do seem to have been struggling for quite a long time.
Take care of yourself and don't try to do to much.

  20. This is a really great new home card. Clever little girl to actually recognise her house. You obviously did a fabulous job. I have obviously been jealous of all the intention you have been getting (and also my poor sister Jeanie who is really poorly - as if she hasn't got enough to contend with!) that I decided I wanted a bit of sympathy myself. Mind you, I had to throw myself down the stairs (totally top to bottom) in order to get it. Not very clever let me tell you! A very painful experience and one I won't be repeating anytime soon!! Hope you are feeling a bit better. Christine xx

  21. Brilliant card Ang, it does look very like the new house, clever you.
Sorry to read you have not been good these past few days. Hope the days ahead are better.
    Patricia xxx

  22. You give a whole new meaning to a personalized card, Ang! Your special touches with making cards FIT the recepients make you my card hero!! They will be amazed!

I'm so sorry to hear you have been going through a rough patch again. I know that in some ways it is more depressing than ever when that happens after you've had so many good days. We convince ourselves that all will be well forever now, hurray, hurray, and then we are blindsided. I'm so sorry. I hope this patch is a very short one and they can get you back on track soon!! Love and hugs, Darnell

  23. This is really lovely Ang and what a fab personalized card! I'm sorry to hear that your having a rough patch hopefully your well soon but I know how it knocks you for six! The Doncaster Dome is still in one piece you will be glad to know and Sue P looked amazingly well:))) lots of huggles Sue xxx

  24. How clever to see the potential for a card in the sweet little porch to their new house.

    Helen x

  25. Love this idea of making the card look like their home!! I am sure they were impressed! Have a great day!
