Good morning chap and chapesses. Hope everyone is fine and well.
Sadly, my sore throat has developed into a cold so I've been hacking like a navvy and the sucking of several Fisherman's Friends has not offered their usual relief.
I did manage to venture out yesterday with Mr D for a Valentine's lunch so it was good not having to cook.
The Girls have been looking after me by snuggling up on the bed after Mr D has gone out to work, bless em but I've a sneaky feeling that's its more for their comfort than mine.
They are starting their ninja training again in readiness for Wisty Watch so need to rest well between sessions.
Now, today we have another show sample and, as is customary, I had to do a black and gold card............what can I say, I love the combo.
Ingredients
Black, cream and vintage gold card
JND Oakham Lattice dies
JND sentiment
Hougie
Black gems
This die is so beautiful for embossing. The lattice isn't just stuck over the gold card, I embossed the lattice into the gold card and put the black frame over the top so the gold layer pops through........saves paper piecing all that lol!!!
Well, here's hoping that this lurgy clears up as the weather has been lovely the last couple of days and I like to feel the Sun on my cheeks (take that as you will lol!!!). Yesterday, there was the joy of seeing a line of washing wafting gently in the sunshine and it being dry when I gathered it in.............sometimes its the simple things in life eh? (I'm sure that Maureen will have a comment on that one)

So many people have had or have the flu fingers crossed I don't catch it. I hope you feel better soon Ang. A lovely card I do like the oakham die. The weather was gorgeous yesterday after a frosty start and its definitely getting lighter ..spring is on its way xxx
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang, sorry to hear that you now have the full blown flu, please take care, wrap up warm if you go out because Jack Frost is still in the air.
ReplyDeleteStunning sample today, Imust have a go at this one, I know you don't mind as long as I always give you the credit for the design. xx
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Sorry to hear you’re not so good again, but pleased you had a lunch out yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely. As you say embossing much easier than paper piecing - I was showing my craft group how to do it on Monday. Paper piecing is lovely when there’s time as you can get such lovely colour effects.

I love this, Ang. I haven't done the embossing technique with a die so will have to give it a go. I am still trying tort out the sandwiches for my big shot plus (Xmas dressier) so could end up with a few scraps to use up.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.

ReplyDeleteHello Ang, a really stunning card. Hope you are feeling much better. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang have to agree with you about the washing always smells so June when it has had a blow. Talking of which I hope you are feeling a bit brighter today even though it is a dull dreary day. Great card and thanks for the embossing tip xx
ReplyDeleteJUNE??? Should say nice!! xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card Ang. Love this die. I go to this one every time I make a card at the moment. Sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you will be better soon.
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteA very elegant and opulent card today - I nearly said just like you ha ha. Now, please try this and I always do this when I get a cold and it works like magic. At bedtime, take 2 paracetamol taken with a cold drink, then a mug of lemonade which has been boiled and then slightly cooled. Drink that as hot as you can and after 2 nights my cold and fever have gone. Honestly, it's never failed me.
I like the simple things in life, a 200 ft yacht, a 20 carat diamond ring and a millionaire to lavish me. Unfortunately I've never managed to get them ha ha.
love Maureen xx
Beautiful card. I love black and gold together also. Thank you for the tip on embossing and then placing the grid over. Sounds easy but I didn't think of it.
ReplyDeleteMaureen, if you manage the yacht, please take us all on a crafting cruise to somewhere warm and sunny.
Mrs. D, feel better very soon. As I am a couple of days past your post, I actually hope you are already cured....whether it is Maureen's formula or the Ninja cuddles.
