Morning everybody. Hope that you are funky fine and enjoying the heatwave. Doesn't it just make you happier for feeling the warmth of the Sun on your cheeks . . . . . the ones on your face before Heather says anything !!!
Glad you seemed to like my first jewellery showing. I would love to see anyone elses if you like to dabble. . . . . . a sort of I've shown you mine now you show me yours type of thing LOL !!!
Now this is not one of my favourite cards, I have to say but when you are asked to make a certain type of card, I'm not precious enough to say no because its not what I would choose to make. It was similar to one I had made before (can't find my piccy of the original at the moment otherwise I would have shown that instead)so it was a case of "can I have that, with that instead?"
Its an A5 card base made from an A4 Sheet of white card, Hougied in half.
On top of that, is a layer of pale pink card that has been embossed using the Couture Creations Bouquet embossing folder. I then cut four of the second smallest squares from the SB Decorative Labels One set, out of raspberry card. I also cut one of the second smallest SB Decorative Labels Eight, also out of raspberry card and I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto this.
I then stuck the labels onto the card, with foam pads, in the arrangement shown.
The flowers are all SB Bitty Blossoms made from the pale pink card and arranged as I was asked.
The person who requested it was very pleased with it so I suppose that's all that matters but has anyone else felt a bit strange about making something they didn't want to do particularly?
Anyhoo my little duckettes, I shall now schedule this and then watch Rick Stein.
Hope you all have a fabulous day and I want to know what Jackie bought in Doncaster, if she pops by.

ReplyDeleteGood morning Ang, it looks like it's going to be another sunny one at that. I have already made plans to be out all day with the girls - so lots of factor 50+ on (I will be under a big shadie tree too) a picnic made up and the girls two friends invited to keep them company and to the park for us.
Now your card to day is lovely and yes there is nothing worse than making something that you have been asked to do but are not liking what they want. I get that a lot, but that's what they want and like so just for it.
Enjoy your day.

Hi. I think its a really pretty card and the flowers look lovely. I get asked for so many Football team cards. Pretty boring to me but if they're happy with it....

Hi Ang, yes I'm back...and what a pretty card to greet me, wish my bitty blossoms looked half as nice. had a really nice weekend at Doncaster though 4 hour journey each way in the heat as well as all the walking about once there left me a bit like a zombie yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed the show perhaps because there was no time limit with having an overnight stay. we were too late for workshops on Saturday so had a good look round then were first in the queue on Sunday morning and got two workshops, one with Kraftyhands which was a lot of laughter and one with Kathy Mills which was a lot of glitter!! Just half hour each but enjoyable then we had plenty of time to stand and watch at the demonstrations around the show. What did I buy I hear you clamouring....Only 3 new Spellbinders, the Filigree Delight, the Fancy Lattice and Fall Foliage - I'm into Autumn at the moment...then 3 new embossing folders. I like the Dutch ones central Craft Collection. They are A6 but as I can fiddle for England you can usually extend them. They have some lovely patterns. I bought quite a few pieces of material and some bookbinding glue from Pinflair to have a go at enhancing some shopping bags for presents. I also bought some button packs and very thin ribbon to have a go at making some button necklaces. Then I bought "stuff" - some more storage boxes, some stamps going cheap as I have promised myself I will get to grips with stamping and colouring, cards on special offer, past editions of a few magazines etc etc etc you know how it is plus some items which I will add to the upcoming workshops I have planned and lots of bits and pieces I can use for raffle prizes. Main problem now is that I decided last week to have another go at selling my bungalow so I can move and had to turn my craft room back into a bedroom and whilst it is tidy to the extreme I can't find anything and when I do get things out I have to put them away straight after in case I get a viewing - not the way a crafter wants to live. Still enough of this novel, I must get on. Best wishes Jackie
ReplyDeleteGood evening Ang,
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card I love that square Die and all your flowers.
I know the feeling I hate when I make a card request when my heart is not in what I am creating.
Happy Crafting
