Good morning my blogging chums. Hope your hatches are battened. Its been a bit windy at The Pond (and no vindaloo in sight!!!). I think, as you are reading this, the may actually be snow here. . . . . and I will be scraping it off Shaun (the car) to get to work first thing.
A quicky today, as its been busy here and that pesky time thief has stolen some hours from me again, dang nabbit!!! Thankfully, the sore throat has gone but I am still getting moments where I lose my voice and feel a little hoarse (that's hoarse not horse before anyone calls the RSPCA lol!!!)
Now this is the second card I made with the Anna Griffin die. Honestly, the last one was not time consuming. It was just the die cut out 3 times and then, as someone said, a bit of jigsaw work.
This time I cut the white layer as a hinged card and then cut the die again in lilac and stuck it on top as a shadow effect, with the other die cuts layered on top.
Ingredients
White card (Lime Tree Crafts)
Lilac card (PMD)
First Edition New Bloom 6x6 paper
Anna Griffin Flourish Emblem die
SB Decorative labels 28
SB Fancy Tags 2
Dovecrafts sentiment stamp
Lilac bling
Now I know that this won't be for everyone, as its quite busy but I made it for my niece's birthday and I made it with her tastes in mind (she did love it).
Must tootle off now as lots to do.
Hope no one has any problems with this latest weather front but take care anyhoo folks.

ReplyDeleteHello Ang, this is beautiful, very filigree look and pretty colours. No snow here yet! For anyone in the path of the bad weather stay safe and warm. Bx
ReplyDeleteNo as you say not to every ones taste but interesting just the same and the recipient loved it so that's all that really matters.
ReplyDeleteFeeling a tad better today but still not lively and we have the heaters on in the middle of summer would you believe.

Morning Ang, a beautiful card, such a great die and love the colours that you have used today. No snow here in Kent at time of writing but feels cold. Have a good day. Janice xxx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWow! This looks amazing, very classy. I love that shadow effect too.
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang,
ReplyDeleteLove the die and the shadow effect, love the design but it's a bit fussy for me I would have put in a plain background, but as long a your niece loved it that's all that matters. Take care.

Hi Ang. Love the card idea. It is a bit busy for me but like you said it suits your niece which is all that matters isn't it. I hope you haven't had too much snow, we have a beautiful blue sky, and it is just cold but snow free still. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeleteLove the front of the card, but the back would be nicer plain, but that's just me, an old so and so. Your niece is the one that matters. I've never thought to use this die as a stand alone card front, or front and back, although I have used Spellbinders.
It's freezing up in Newcastle, thin layer of snow which has frozen and is very slippy. I've been out to get our granddaughters to school, but that's it. I'm not going out again if I can help it.

Holy jumpins Ang, I don't know where you find the patience to work with these intricate dies!! Good grief, you must have been poking out bits from those holes forever! (wait, that didn't sound right??) Well, you know what I mean. Anyway, it's gorgeous and I love it! Glad to hear you are on the mend a bit. big hugs :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning so very beautiful I simply adore Anna Griffin products they say class in such a beautiful way. We have lots of snow here in Cumbria so Scotland must have passed it on to us!
ReplyDeleteTake care

Wow! Love this card. So beautiful and delicate! Hope it warms up soon for you. We just had a couple of beautiful warm sunny days here. Maybe they are coming your way! Have a great day Ang!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely card, but I am a fan of Anna's dies. I am really looking at this card to see how you've made it hinged, I will get out one of my dies and play later to see if I can replicate it.
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeletemy this card is so beautiful.
Love what you have designed and created with this die.
The colours are fab too.
Here's hoping you will soon be A1 again, as being under the weather is hard when you have to go out to work.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Really beautiful Ang, love the die.
ReplyDeleteLove Val in Spain x
It's very pretty Looks really intricate (which I know is down to the die but you have to come up ideas for how to use it) It's snowing quite heavily in WGC Can't really complain, although it's been really cold heretics is the first "proper" snow we've had Hate it and hopefully won't snow for long and settle
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and not surprised your niece loved it - looks like a real work of art but so worth it xx GailT xx
ReplyDeleteOh Wow! this is SO gorgeous Ang… I love the dies that you've used… so elegant and very pretty colours too!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend!
Big hugs, Sue B xx
So stunning, amazing, xxx
ReplyDeleteI think its beautiful, but like you when making cards for others I try to be aware of their own taste, not mine. Its sometimes hard to make a card which will not necessarily appeal to you yourself however.
