Good morning all you lovely folk. Hope you are well or as well as you can be.
So glad I all gave you a titter last time with the shananaghans at The Pond. I can laugh now but at the time, I did want to help Mr D's throat by massaging it with both hands!!!
He is better now and there has been no repeat of Saturday/Sunday night, I am relieved to report.
I would like to extend a splashy welcome to Beverly who has kindly clicked on the followers button. Its lovely of you to become the 90th in our merry band. I will have to start polishing some Paddle Prizes if I reach the dizzy heights of 100.
Now, today's card is the second in a trio I made, the first one being on my last post here.
Although the flower die is actually called Sweet Christine, I thought that the flowers made up this way, looked similar to Sweet Williams when clustered together (run with me on that one lol!!!)
I then decided to do a CAS ish card with a single stalk of them.
Ingredients
White card
Pink card (PMD)
Cheery Lynn Sweet Christine die
SB Carnation Creations die (for the leaves)
Pink markers (2 shades)
White gel pen.
Distress Inks
Crafters Companion sentiment stamp
Memento Dew Drop Rose Bud ink pad
2mm white pearls
Docrafts glitter enamel dots
The picture doesn't quite show the domed shape of the flower as I put foam pads under the centre of the flower but not at the sides, to add further dimension.
The third in the trio will be here at the weekend so hope you can stop by then to have a peek.
Today, I am off to CE Towers to be John's glamorous assistant at a workshop (Wendy is back in Spain so I've been called off the subs bench lol!!!) I think I'm on tea/coffee duty.
I have the day off as my sweet news, as per the title is that yesterday was my last shift at work.
I handed in my notice last week as I have been offered a job working for a charity, which I have accepted. Those who have been paddling at The Pond for a while will know that, despite the jokes, I did love my job and enjoyed what I did.
The turning point was the end of last year when I had several shift changes in quick succession, which resulted in my having to give up my volunteering at the RSPCA and, just before Christmas, cancelling a break we had planned for Mr D's birthday (I think I had a grumble about it on here)
At that point, I decided to look for something else, applied for 3 jobs and got offered two and that was that.
Its a bit scary but its something new to get my duck bill into. I had a lovely card from everyone at work and there were even tears shed by a couple of my colleagues (probably of joy hahaha!!!)
I won't be starting my new job for a couple of weeks so I have some time off to do an early Spring clean and have a bit of a rest and craft,
Well, that's the news folks. Wish me luck!

Wow! you have had a week. Firstly beautiful card, love all the flowers. Secondly I am envy, you going to CE towers with John, would love to visit there lol! Thirdly CONGRATULATIONS GAL! New job ay, dare I ask for which charity????? I hope it works out for you and I know you loved your other job but for some reason employers are able to treat staff this way now, they know your position can be easily filled as so many are looking for jobs, there is no staff loyalty at our place, its about time gov stepped in!!! There had my rant for the day and stopping there as I could go on lol! Its all about you (its all about you baby...!!!) I'm getting of the track here, seriously so glad for you do let us know how things go and good luck. As for today Enjoy!

Hi Ang. What a gorgeous CAS card, I love it and the way you have coloured each petal is brilliant : )
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Mr D is feeling better now.
Enjoy the break before starting your new job. I bet you will do more crafting than spring cleaning, I know I would : ) Take care.
Gorgeous CAS card Ang, love that you have created with the die, it's so pretty. Hope you manage a sleep in with no work calling and good for you taking on a change in direction. Hope you enjoy the new job when you start, in the mean time enjoy your leisure time and forget about those cupboards that need cleaning - life's too short! Jx

Cheers
Janice W...(3 Janice's this morning, is it a bit confusing?)
Hi And. Love how you've made this card. The close up shows how much work has gone into it.
ReplyDeleteMany congrats on your new job. I think the old firm treated you really badly last year and i'm glad you've left them. Can you tell us which charity it is? Is it animal related?
Have a great time with john.
Love val in Spain x
Lovely card Ang, will have to think of this as sweet Christine flower (my big sister's name, not sweet William (the ex husband's name), nothing sweet about him.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day assisting John.

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteWell, first of all Congratulations on the new job. Knock em dead (well not literally).
Second, I think, after posting comments for a while, I have managed to be a follower today. Although I may already have done this, but I don't think I had. It was when you said that Beverly clicked on the followers button - I thought "I don't think I've ever done that" Does all that waffle make sense, or shall I delete it? Decisions, decisions lol.
Third - It's a lovely card today. Such a clever use of the little flowers.
Last, but not least, I think you are going to have to put a ban on any more "Janices" joining your blog. As Janice number 3 says, it's getting very confusing!
Love Maureen xx
P.S. Have a good day with at CE with John - who's John?

Good morning Ang, well what a lot of news but all so good and positive. Firstly though, your card. You have so much patience making your little flowers and it is such a fresh looking card. So, congratulations on making the decision to leave the worries of THAT JOB behind you and find something else. I'm sure you will soon have everything working tickets boo. To now have some crafting time is something else provided you can find the time to do some! A day at CE Towers with John though sounds a wonderful day out even if you do have to make the tea so I hope you both enjoy the day. Bye for now Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteSorry that should say tickety boo! That's predictive text for you.
ReplyDeleteDelighted to hear you have left that job where they didn't seem to appreciate you and your efforts! Enjoy your two weeks, and I hope the new job works out for you. What a treat to apply for three and get offered two of them. The UK must be looking up! (love the card, but with that many flowers, I'd use a small flower punch [EZ does one])
ReplyDeleteGood morning Ang, this is a real wow card, it's simple design but the effect is stunning. X Ros
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang what a wonderful flower I love the colour and the design is clean and simple and I love the design. xx

ReplyDeleteMany many congratulations on your new job Ang! I'm glad you were able to make this change, even though it's scary, nobody should have to to deal with the kind of crap (sorry, but I can't think of a more appropriate word) they were pulling on you of late! Maybe now you can get back to concentrating on the important things in life!
ReplyDeleteLove your card! I think it was smart to let the flower stand on it's own, what an incredible piece of art you created! Love the vibrant colour too! Well done my friend! hugs :)

No kidding around, Ang, this is now the card at the top of my list for Top Ten Cards of 2015!! I literally caught my breath when I saw it. It's just the kind of fiddling that I love to do, but I doubt I could do this card justice. It is a m.a.s.t.e.r.p.i.e.c.e.!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, seriously, congratulations on getting your back feathers in a twist and shoving off the old job, even though you loved it! As you quickly discovered there are other places you can paddle to and find happiness. Enjoy the next two weeks of rest and freedom and creativity and I wish you ALL the very best with the new position!! (And I'm pleased to hear that Mr. Duck settled down!) Hugs, Darnell
Beautiful crafting on the card, The flowers are gorgeous. I sympathize with you. I often am unable to sleep but other things that we shall not go into now also cause sleepless nights at times. - Enjoy you weekend - Jim
