Good morning everyone. Hope this finds you well and full of the joys of Spring.
What wonderful weather we have had the last few days. No heating on in this house for about a week now and there's been lines of washing bobbing in the breeze and Sun.. . . . . ahhh, its the simple things in life eh?
Still chasing my tail with work this week but apparently, will be on my normal hours from next week. . . . . . . . phew!!! Lesley, I used to volunteer in an RSPCA charity shop but now I work for a children's charity so I'm hoping they won't be letting me loose with any animals lol!!! (mind you they are both noisy, make a mess and cost you a fortune so not dissimilar hahaha!!!)
I have been shattered and some of you will notice the silly times I have commented on some of your blogs because I have nodded off in my chair, then woken up at about 11.30pm lol!!!
So my chums, this will be short and sweet again ("Hurrah" I hear you all chorus)
Now, today's card was the result of another play with the exquisite Cygnus Gemini die, which I cut twice on the edge (once with the cutting edge) and then cut a duplicate in black to create a shadow.
Ingredients
Cream card (Ross)
Black card (PMD)
SB Bitty Blossoms
SB Matting Basics A & B (for the aperture in which the roses sit & the frame around it)
SW Cygnus Gemini
Hobbycraft border stamp (stamped repeatedly as its only about an inch & a half long)
Aly's Inky Fingers sentiment
Black Archival ink pad
The top layer is raised so that the roses sit in a recessed aperture.
I shall use this for one of my friends birthday's. Its good to build up a bit of a stock with being busy at the moment.
Anyhoo, that's me having to run and rustle up some sausage pasta for tea (yes, I'm scheduling) and may have to give my hair a blast with the dryer as its still a bit damp from washing (those who have met me will know how long my hair is and I normally let it dry naturally)
So, I shall bid you adieu for now and wish you warm weather to go with your warm hearts.
Be good.

Ah, now I understand, Mrs Duck, I thought you had gone to another animal charity job! We have something in common now though, as I have waist length hair too. Mine is very fine, so doesn't take very long to dry at all.
ReplyDeleteLove the card, especially the cutting on the edge. That finishes off all your beautiful flowers nicely.
Good morning Ang, sorry I missed your last blog and am now on a bit of a catch up. The egg basket look so nice and this card is beautiful and so much work with the flowers getting them just right. I looked at the CE blog but couldn't see anything about winning their inaugural blog challenge so will have another look later but in the meantime Congratulations!! love from Jackie xx

Gorgeous Ang!! Love what you did with that border die, the shadow is very effective, I actually thought it was a wood flourish border at first! Beautiful flowers!! I hope you aren't wearing yourself down with this new job, it was supposed to take you away from stress-ish things...is that a word?? haha! big hugs :)

Hi Ang, lovely card, very pretty with all the Roses. The die cuts on the edge are beautiful, esp with the shadow effect. Congratulations on your latest blog win, well done. Not done anything in my craft room for weeks:( really missing it, but so much going on at the moment, hopefully things may go a little quieter and then I can get some me time! Take care all, Linda.

Mrs D this is gorgoeus and love how you recess your flowers - I have only ever seen you do this and it is a lovely effect xx know what you mean about work getting in the way of catching up on blogs and I haven't even had time to schedule 'oldie for Friday' and just catching up on yesterday's postings! but I suppose it keeps me out of mischief!!!! as if!?! xx enjoy your weekend xx GailT xx
ReplyDeleteHI Ang! Love how you recessed the roses on the card and that border is fabulous! Glad to hear your work hours will get better next week. Enjoy your weekend and I hope the weather stays warm for you!
ReplyDeleteEvening Ang, I seemed to have missed this blog on Thursday ....just catching up today (Saturday) I love the way you have added 2 layers to create a shadow, will have to have a go at that myself soon.... The weather has been lovely recently but what really annoys me is that as soon as there is a good washing drying day people all around seem to want to have bonfires !!! they don't even wait until the evening when I could have dried my washing. I open my doors and windows to enjoy the fresh air only to have to shut them soon after as all I can smell is smoke !!!! Well that's got that off my chest....it's good to have a moan now and then don't you agree ?? Janice xx

Internet just went down so don't think my comment was posted. Driving me nuts at the moment with my provider telling me no fault found. It took 2 weeks to sort out last time and it will be 2 weeks again on Monday .
ReplyDeleteAnyway I love those fabulous roses in their recessed tray. what a neat idea. hope you get your work hours sorted out. hugs Mrs A.
Hi Ang. Love this gorgeous card. I must have a go at using my SW Lyra die on the side like this as your SW Cygnus looks so pretty. I hope that this next week at work shows you what it is really going to be like. Fingers crossed the lovely sunshine continues : ) Take care
ReplyDeleteStunning work Ang, love your colours too, hugs Kate x
