Good morning everyone, Hi De Hi!!!
Had a busy few days again at The Pond. Mr D's brother and his other half were up here for a couple of days and there were the cemetery visits for Sunday too.
The tooth has settled a bit, as have the other related issues but the dentist wants me to have it out so I am booked in this month to get that sorted. It is at the back so hopefully I won't look like Steptoe's love child.
That being said, I will see how it goes and may postpone the deed if the tooth settles down. Thank you for all of your good wishes.
Now, back to the fun bit. crafty stuff.
I made this box for John's last shows to showcase his latest collection. It started as a box but I then decided to add some mini lights for an extra bit of interest.
Ingredients
Craft Artist Crystal Silver card
Acetate
Vellum
JND Foston Fold dies
JND Leafy Flourish dies (on the sides)
JND Swirl Ivy dies
JND Mini Star Flower dies
Bling
Stamens
I fancied trying a box that wasn't square and I was going to go completely white on white but then decided to inject a wee bit of colour with the fuchsias.
I did use just acetate at first but then decided, after popping the lights in, that they needed softening so I dug out a sheet of vellum and stuck that behind the acetate.
If you saw John's shows, he did demonstrate how I had created the front panel. It is just the lattice panel cut overlapping. I then cut a further diamond out of the centre.
I had fun making this but you know me and anything to do with flowers lol!!!
Well that's me for now. Lots on this week.........Two birthdays and a funeral (could be an idea for a film 😏)
Will see you all again soon.
Be good

Morning Ang, love this box, and the idea with the lights is great. Hope the tooth does settle down. Wow you do have a busy week, hope it goes ok. Take care. Bx
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang, what a beautiful sample to greet us today, your creations always amaze me, but in a good way, you always think out of the box, and seeing this you have given me a light bulb moment (no pun intended ha ha).
ReplyDeleteDon't put off the tooth extraction even if you think it has settled down, the dentist knows best, it will only be a short reprieve and then you will be in pain and have to have it out... trust me I am a patient.....
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Good Morning Ang. I saw your beautiful box on John's shows, love the lights idea and the vellum over acetate makes it so lovely. Hope your tooth settles down but I would keep your appointment and have the rascal removed. Hugs Rita xxxxx

ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteI was away from home last week! First trip away on my own! I drove as well so was pleased with that. I’m trying to explain why I didn’t comment last week but I see you knew anyway!!! Maureen and I had a super day!
I’ve only watched one Show but I saw the Lantern and it is beautiful. It’s lovely to see it closely. Love how you have dealt with the battery pack too. I may just copy that or my take on it - if you don’t mind! Last week’s card was lovely too and a great idea.
Sorry about the tooth and did laugh about Steptoe !! Enjoy your busy week. It’s busy here too believe it or not!
Many thanks,
Love Myra xx
Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous and the tiny fuchsia are beautiful but with my knobbly arthritic fingers, I'm afraid it's a flower too far!!! Stunning, absolutely stunning.
Now get that tooth sorted, says she who is absolutely terrified of the dentist. I hope it settles down completely and you won't need to have an extraction.
I see Myra has recovered from her visit last Wednesday, but I'm afraid to say that the ladies in the shops we visited are still on medication ha ha.
Love Maureen xx
You always create such beautiful and ingenious things. Clever lady.
ReplyDeleteNot much time for crafting at present as I’m on a deadline for some lace completion. Matt and family arrive from NZ next Tuesday so you can guess how excited I am. Have two 40th cards to do as both he and his partner celebrate while they’re in the UK. How lovely it will be to have all the family together.

This is stunning, Ang. I don't know how you come up with all these ideas. Like Jan, lace is taking priority at the moment - all will be revealed in due course!
ReplyDeleteAnne (Northampton)
Stunning is all I can say Ang
ReplyDeleteA beautiful creation Ang xx
